Sandlot Fun Days

A player-led, unstructured opportunity for local Little League® programs to provide a fun, relaxed, activity for baseball and softball players, where kids make the rules, make the lineups, and make the calls.

Ditch the rulebooks (for the most part). It’s up to the players. This is their game. It’s their decision. Give them the bats, balls, and field, and let them play. They could divide evenly into teams and play a structured game. They could rotate through pitching and hitting and running without a formal defense on the field. They can use a continuous batting order. More info here.

All games located at San Antonio Park - First games schedule as follows:

8U and 10 U on Thursday, July 7th at 6:00pm
12U and 14U on Tuesday, July 12th at 6:00pm

More games will be TBD based on interest.

UPDATE:

Thursday, July 7 - 6:00pm

8U and 10U players

Meet by the Minor field tables for check-in

More games will be added based on interest and volunteer availability! 12U and 14U will probably start next week.

As a reminder, this is a non-competitive, non-structured program where the players are in charge (for the most part). Anyone is welcome, including players that haven't registered with UFLL yet or who have played for other leagues. We will have coaches and Board Members there to make sure the players are safe, but this really is time for the players to get together with their UFLL friends and play baseball!

The age brackets are primarily just a guide. If you feel like your player is ready to play up with an older bracket, then they are more than welcome! We will of course intervene if there are any safety concerns, but this is intended to be player managed and driven. We can accommodate younger siblings but with modifications to keep them safe (outfield play, coach step-in to pitch, etc.).

A couple of notes for our Sandlot Games:

Please ensure that your players are properly equipped to play baseball (athletic supporter, cup and shoes). Shorts and t-shirts are fine, although you may want to consider pants if your player likes sliding. Also, USA bats only please. We are operating under Little League rules and insurance and are required to follow some minimum safety guidelines, including the use of USA bats only. For more information on USA bats, please visit the Little League's information page at: https://www.littleleague.org/help-center/usa-baseball-bat-standard-faqs/

Just show up and PLAY BALL!
